Get Off The Treadmill

No, not the one at the gym. The one that runs your life. The one that gets faster and faster as you seek to achieve more and to fit more into your life. It gets more frantic when you want to make your business more successful, socialise more, or spend more time with family. The key word here is ‘more’, because it’s often believed you need to keep doing more to achieve your goal of getting more done. What often happens is the more you try to accomplish and squeeze into your life, the less effective you become all round. At times you may wonder, when you’re doing so much more, why it feels as if you’re getting nowhere. You’re on the treadmill,
running faster and faster, but not really moving forward. One of the keys to achieving more in an effective manner is to get off your treadmill each day. In order to achieve more, you actually need to slow right down and stop for a while. One of the best ways is to take 15 minutes each and every day, to stop, relax and quieten your mind totally. Let all your thoughts go and be at peace with yourself. It may take a while to get used to doing this but I really encourage you to give it a go. You may want to start with 5 minutes and gradually build up to 15. The benefits are immense.
